Sign in with Apple or Google Coming soon

This feature is not available in the app yet. This article explains how it will work and will be updated at launch.

To save your progress you will sign in with your Apple or Google account, with no password. We store the account identifier, your name (if you want) and your email.

When this is available, saving your progress will be one tap: choose Continue with Apple or Continue with Google in the system’s own sheet. It works on iPhone and Android.

Before you sign in

The app asks two questions, in this order, and nothing leaves the device before them:

  1. Age: “I am 12 or older” or “I am the parent or guardian and I authorize it”. A child under 12 should only save progress with a responsible adult’s authorization.
  2. What to save: “Save everything, including the devotional” or “Only study progress”. Neither is preselected. The devotional may reveal your faith, which the law treats as sensitive data, so it is only saved if you choose it. You can change this later; if you stop saving the devotional, it is deleted from our servers.

No password

Efatah will not have email-and-password sign-up. There is no form to fill in.

What we store

We do not store your photo. Apple only sends name and email the first time you sign in to Efatah.

What we use the email for

Apple and Google together

You will be able to link both to the same Efatah account. That is what lets you move from iPhone to Android without losing anything. If both already have separate Efatah accounts, they are merged without losing progress.

Reminders

Reminder times belong to each device. On a new device, the app asks whether you want to use the same reminders as your other device.

Where to find it

In Profile › Account and sync, and in the Your progress row of the Downloads screen. After saving, the app shows “Saved to your account”.

Purchases

Purchases from the App Store or Google Play will not depend on this account: the store restores them. See restore purchases.
