Terms of use
1. Who we are and acceptance
Efatah is published by GRACEFOLD TECH LTDA, a Brazilian company registered under CNPJ 69.276.507/0001-79, with registered office at SAUS Quadra 4, Bloco A, s/n, Sala 513 Parte 1002, Plano Piloto, Brasília/DF, CEP 70070-938, Brasil ("Gracefold", "we"). By installing or using the app, or by using the website, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app or the website.
These are Efatah's specific terms. Gracefold's general terms apply to anything these terms do not cover; in case of conflict, these terms prevail.
2. License
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install and use the app on devices you control, for personal and non-commercial purposes, under the rules of the store you got the app from (Apple App Store or Google Play). The app, its code, design, texts, images, audio, lessons and other content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights of Gracefold or third-party licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, reverse engineer or extract the app's content, except where the law expressly allows it.
Churches, schools and other institutions that want to use the content with groups should contact us through support.
3. Physical cards and printed materials
Efatah's physical cards and printed materials (lesson notebooks, games) are separate products with their own terms of sale. The app recognizes the cards with the camera; recognition depends on image quality and lighting and is not guaranteed in every condition. The QR code on the cards opens an address on efatah.app.
4. Age and parental responsibility
The app does not require an account. People under 18 may use the app under the responsibility of their parents or guardians, subject to the age rating shown on the store. Parents or guardians decide whether a child uses the app, for how long and with which permissions (camera, microphone, notifications), and are responsible for purchases made with the family's store account.
5. Optional account (coming soon)
When the app offers the option to save your progress to an account, it will be created with your Apple or Google account and will always be optional. In that case:
- before linking, the app asks you to declare that you are 12 or older, or that you are the parent or guardian and authorize it. The declaration must be true; parents or guardians are responsible for a child's account;
- you are responsible for keeping access to your Apple or Google account and your device secure;
- we may send service messages to the account's e-mail (account, security, receipts and changes to these terms). News and content only arrive if you ask for them, as described in the privacy policy;
- you can delete the account at any time inside the app; deletion removes synced progress as described in the privacy policy;
- we may suspend syncing for an account used to attack or overload the service or in breach of these terms (section 12);
- the account is your Apple or Google identity: whoever controls that identity controls the account. We do not transfer accounts between people, and disputes over who owns an Apple or Google identity are settled with those providers;
- death: at the request of a family member or the legal representative, with the death certificate, we delete the account. Access to a deceased person's data is given only under a court order.
6. Plans, subscriptions and purchases (when available)
Today the app sells nothing. When paid plans, subscriptions or one-off purchases are offered:
- through the store: purchases are made and billed by Apple or Google, at the prices, taxes and conditions shown on the store at the time of purchase. We do not receive your payment details;
- automatic renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, for the same price and term, until you cancel them. To avoid renewal, cancel in the App Store or Google Play subscription settings before the current period ends (Apple asks for at least 24 hours' notice). After cancelling, you keep access until the end of the period already paid;
- free trial: if there is a trial period, it becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then, as shown on the purchase screen;
- uninstalling the app or deleting the account does not cancel the subscription; cancellation is always done in the store;
- price changes: the store notifies you before a new price applies to your subscription and, where the store's rules require, asks for your agreement;
- refunds and withdrawal: refunds follow the store's rules. For distance purchases in Brazil, you may withdraw within seven days of the purchase (Consumer Protection Code, art. 49), through the store or through support;
- restoring: purchases are tied to your store account and can be restored on another device with the same store account, without a Efatah account.
A plan never changes your progress: it does not mark lessons, does not level up words and does not grant rewards.
7. Streaks, achievements and rewards
Day streaks, commitments, badges, Treasures of Faith and other in-app achievements exist only to track and celebrate your study. They have no cash value, cannot be bought, sold, exchanged or transferred, and may change with app updates.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the app or the website to:
- break the law or infringe the rights of others;
- try to access Gracefold systems, servers or content without authorization, circumvent protection measures, or overload the service;
- download or extract content by automated means (bots, scripts, scraping), or use it to train artificial intelligence models;
- redistribute the app's content, including lesson packs, images and audio, outside the app;
- remove copyright or proprietary notices.
Sharing a verse, a prayer or a word with the app's share button, for personal and non-commercial use, is allowed.
9. Educational and devotional content
- Purpose: the app's content is educational. Biblical texts, translations, examples, prayers and reflections are offered as language-learning and personal devotional material.
- Not advice: the content does not replace guidance from teachers, religious leaders and communities, or psychological, medical or legal advice. In a crisis or emergency, seek professional help or emergency services.
- Translations and sources: Bible texts may come from third-party or public-domain translations, with the source shown in the app where applicable. Rights in those translations belong to their owners.
- Synthetic voice and AI tools: part of the content, such as the lesson voices and some images, is produced with artificial intelligence tools and reviewed by Gracefold. There may be pronunciation, translation or content errors; if you find one, please report a problem.
We try to keep the content accurate and up to date, but do not guarantee it is free of errors.
10. Content you submit and social features
Today the app receives no user content and has no public profiles, chat, friends or leaderboards. If such features are created, they will have their own conduct and moderation rules, published here first, and taking part will be optional.
11. Availability, updates and discontinuation
The app may receive updates that change or remove features. Part of the content depends on downloads over the internet; we may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance. If the app is discontinued, we will give reasonable advance notice on the store or inside the app, and active subscriptions will be handled under the store's rules and applicable consumer law.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it and, if you have an account, deleting it. We may suspend or end access for anyone who seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, or where the law or an order from an authority requires it, giving notice beforehand whenever possible. Suspension does not affect your consumer rights or purchases already paid for, which follow the store's rules.
Suspending is not deleting: on a suspended account, sessions end and sign-in is blocked, but the data stays stored and the suspension can be reversed. You can ask for a suspension to be reviewed at support@santolingo.com.
Where a court order or a legal duty requires it, we may preserve an account's data even after a deletion request, for as long as required, and hand it to the competent authority, under Brazil's Marco Civil da Internet and the LGPD. We will tell you when the law allows. Details are in the privacy policy.
13. Warranties and liability
The app and the website are provided free of charge or for the price shown on the store, as they are. Gracefold is liable for defects under the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code and does not exclude or limit any liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited. Outside those cases, Gracefold is not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app or the website, nor for failures of third-party services (stores, internet providers, device manufacturers).
14. Apple and Google
These terms are an agreement between you and Gracefold, not with Apple or Google. Gracefold, not the store, is responsible for the app, its support and maintenance, and for handling claims about the app, including third-party rights claims. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you; Apple's only warranty obligation, where applicable, is to refund the price paid for the app. You must also follow the terms of use of the store you downloaded the app from.
15. Third-party links and services
The app and the website may link to third-party sites and services (for example, the stores and the apps you choose when sharing). Those services have their own terms and policies, and Gracefold is not responsible for them.
16. Privacy
The processing of personal data is described in the Efatah privacy policy.
17. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms to reflect changes in the app, the website or the law. The current version, with its number and date, is on this page. Relevant changes will be announced with reasonable notice, on this page and inside the app. Continuing to use the app or the website after the effective date means you accept the new version; if you do not agree, you can stop using the app and cancel subscriptions in the store.
18. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The courts of Brasília/DF have jurisdiction, without prejudice to the consumer's right to bring claims in the courts of their own domicile. If you live outside Brazil, the consumer-protection rules of your country that cannot be waived by contract still apply.
