The data the app uses
Efatah is built to use as little data as possible. No account, no ads, no tracking; progress stays on the device.
Efatah is built to use as little data as possible.
What the app does not do
- it does not ask for an account, name, email, phone number, location or contacts;
- it shows no ads;
- it does no cross-app tracking, records no screen or sessions and builds no profile of you;
- it does not sell or share personal data;
- it does not send your progress, camera images or microphone audio to our servers.
What stays on your device
Your courses, downloaded content, progress and preferences. See where your progress lives.
What reaches our servers
When the app downloads lessons, images and audio, our servers log technical connection data (IP address, date and time, the file requested and the device type). These logs are for security and fixing problems, are kept briefly and are not linked to any profile.
Technical and usage data (from the next version)
From the version that brings the optional account, the app starts sending technical data (errors, crashes, performance) and usage data without content (screens opened, lessons and devotionals completed or abandoned, features used), tied to a random device code, never to your name or e-mail. Your prayers, what you say and what you save stay on the device. The code is replaced every 13 months and deleted when you uninstall the app. Details are in the privacy policy, section 5.1.
System libraries
On Android, card reading uses Google’s ML Kit, which runs on the device. Images never leave the phone, but the library sends Google technical metrics about how it runs (device model, versions, errors). If you allow it in your device settings, Apple and Google also send us aggregated statistics and crash reports that do not identify you.
Data about faith
What you study, save or pray may reveal your faith, and the law treats that as sensitive data. The content (what you read, save, annotate or pray) stays on your device only; usage data records only that a devotional was opened or completed, with no content. We never use it for ads and never sell it.
When accounts arrive
Saving progress with Apple or Google will be optional. We will store the account identifier, your name (optional), your email and your progress record; the devotional only if you choose. We do not store a photo. The privacy policy already describes how it will work.
The legal details are in the privacy policy and the terms of use.
