Your starting point on the trail

At the start, the app asks how much of the language you already know. Here is what each answer does.

When you create a course, the app asks how well you already know the language: beginner, intermediate or advanced.

What each answer does

• Beginner: you start at the first section of the first chapter.
• Intermediate or advanced: the early chapters show as already covered (“Consolidated · reviewable”) and you start further along.

Those chapters stay open for review. They do not count as words you practised in the app: a word only joins your reviews after you actually study it.

You can go back to any chapter from the Journey map and do its lessons as usual.
